Editorial policy
How we research, write and correct what we publish.
Sourcing
- Every figure links to its primary source where one exists (for example a registry, ICANN, WIPO or the company involved), or to the publication that first reported it.
- Where we calculate something ourselves, such as adding two published figures, we say so.
- We write in our own words. We do not copy articles, and we do not republish sales databases. We may mention a single reported sale with a link to the source.
- For sales data we link to services such as NameBio and DN Journal instead of reproducing their lists.
Independence and disclosure
- We do not accept payment for articles, links or reviews.
- The author and investors own domain names that are for sale. They are listed on a separate, disclosed page and are not promoted in news or guides.
- We do not currently use affiliate links. If that changes, affected links will be clearly labelled.
Accuracy and corrections
Each article shows its publication date and, if changed, the date it was updated. If you spot an error, please tell us through the contact page. We will check it and correct the article, noting significant corrections at the end.
